Foster/Adoptive Parent Support Group -
Understanding Bad Behavior
Each session is held from 7:00pm - 9:00pm with Dr Randy Haugan and Mary Rossman, MSW at Battle Creek Counseling Associates, Battle Creek, MI located at 211 Capital Ave NE across from the Y Center.  Meetings are on the 2nd floor.  All parents are welcome to stop in anytime for one or more sessions.  The group is free to all foster, adoptive and relative caregivers.

January 18

Teamwork:  Working Together with the Agency and Biological Parents

Childcare available at Take-A-Break Daycare by calling in advance and reserving with Marcie.  Childcare cost is $2.00/hour per child.  Scholarships may be available if needed.

This training will discuss what the agency does to support foster parents and help foster parents understand what they can do to help the agency meet state requirements.  The training will also discuss the foster parent's role in helping biological parents feel better about having their children in care.  Please RSVP. 

The training may be canceled if there is a lack of response, so call ahead of time.

Pride Class - Session I:  Orientation Part 1, Information About Foster Care
Location: Calhoun County Department of Human Services (Department of Human Services (FIA)), 3rd floor conference room
Time:  9:00am - 12:00pm

This class is being limited to 20 parents at this time.  Those willing to care for teenagers, school age children, medical fragile youth, sexually abused or physically aggressive youth, or large sibling groups of 3 or more will be considered first.  Foster homes for these age and services types are needed at this time.  If you have already started the classes and need to make a couple of classes up or you work 2nd shift and need morning classes you will also be added to the class list first.
