Need some new recipes ideas, some of which have been handed down from generations? Would you like to help recognize the foster parents in our county? We have just the thing! A wonderful cookbook with great recipes submitted by the Department of Human Services (FIA) staff and foster parents is available. This book is a diverse collection of meats, greens, vegetables dessert, and many secret family recipes some handed down through generations. Our foster parents provide this community with such a valuable service and this cookbook was put together so the proceeds will go to support activities for foster and adoptive families, to help keep them connected, to help children know that they are not the only children in foster care or adopted, and to support placements in order to reduce moves for children. The Calhoun County Department of Human Services has over 350 children in Foster Care at this time and 103 licensed foster homes.

Cookbooks can be purchased by calling 269-966-1343. You may stop in to pick up a cookbook at the Department of Human Services for $10.00.
